Click2FindNow and I-Lookup are homepage hijacking programs that change the IE homepage and search pages resulting in many pop-up ads. They will also add bookmarks to the Favorites menu in IE and in most cases a toolbar as well. Both sites are run by a company called Aztec Marketing SA in San Jose, Costa Rica. I-Lookup also may set the homepage to globalwebsearch.com in some versions. All appear to be installed by an ActiveX download.

Since the first writeup of this page in May, 2003 there have been several variations of I-lookup.com that have appeared:

How to remove i-lookup - Remove i-lookup Instructions

1) Open the 'Downloaded Program Files' folder in the Windows folder. Right-click the object called 'I-Lookup.com Bar' (Ineb and Abeb variants), 'GlobalWebSearch.com Bar' (Gws and Chgrgs variants), 'SearchBus.com Bar' (Sbus variant), 'GlobalToolbar.com Bar' (Drbr variant) or 'Search Bar' (Bmeb variant). Click 'Remove'.

2) Next, open a DOS command prompt window (Click Start->Run, type COMMAND(for windows 95/98/Me) or CMD(for NT/2000/XP)) and enter the following commands to unregister related DLL files.

For the Ineb variant :

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Ineb.dll

For Gws variant:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u GWS.dll

For Chgrgs variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Chgrgs.dll

For Abeb variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u abeb.dll

For Bmeb variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u bmeb.dll

For Sbus variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u sbus.dll

For Drbr variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u drbr.dll

3) Click Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings to get the normal search sidebar back, reset your homepage, and delete the extra bookmarks added to the Favorites menu.

4) Remove registry entries.

Click Start > Run, type Regedit and click Ok to open the registry editor. Expand the folder of HKEY_CURRENT_USER and then Software, locate the Ineb folder and delete it.
